Onboarding

Our onboarding process will look a little different for everyone since people learn at different speeds. However, the general process for our training looks like this: You will begin your onboarding process by observing and shadowing experienced team members. During these times, you will learn about your responsibilities and the tasks and processes involved in your role.

After a few times of shadowing, you will have the opportunity to try out tasks yourself with the support of experienced team members. As you become more comfortable and skilled in your role, you will gradually take on more responsibilities and independence in your work.

You will also be onboarded using MxU which is an online platform that we use in order to provide ongoing training for the entire team. You will be expected to go through the courses assigned to you in order to make sure you are growing in your role. Our goal is to ensure that you have the support and resources you need to succeed in your role.

Who You Are

Each member of the Production Team is someone committed to learning and doing everything they can with excellence (not perfection!!) and a humble spirit. We never expect you to know everything when you join the team- we encourage you to learn and grow as you serve. When serving on any team at New Hope, we expect you to adhere to our core values as a church which are listed below.

<aside> 💡 Core Values

  1. We are committed to blessing those around us.

  2. We will honor Christ and His Church with integrity.

  3. We will do anything short of sin to reach people who don’t know Jesus.

  4. We will do everything with excellence.

  5. We are spiritual contributors, not spiritual consumers.

  6. We are faith filled, big thinking, all-in risk takers.

  7. We will lead the way with radical generosity.

  8. We are real people committed to real community.

How We Define Excellence:

Attire

On Sundays, the expectation is that you wear all black (pants and shirt). We will provide you with a black t-shirt if needed. This production industry standard is implemented here to help foster a distraction-free worship environment. Remember, we represent our ministry and the Church in everything we do, including how we dress. Although we don't need to wear button downs, we also should not be showing up to service in sweatpants, stained clothing, wrinkled, or just beat up.

Scheduling

One of the first things that we will do when you join the Production Team is get you set up with a Planning Center account. Planning Center is the platform that we use to plan our services and schedule the volunteers for those services. The schedule for the next month is sent out by the second Friday of the current month. The expectation is that you reply (confirm or deny) to that request within 7 days of it being sent out. We also expect you to take ownership of your own schedule and provide blockout dates for known unavailability. These must be submitted for the upcoming month no later than the 7th of the current month. For example, if you need to block out a date in March, you must submit your blockout on Planning Center by February 7th. This will prevent complications caused by blocking out dates you’ve already been scheduled for. If you are unexpectedly unable to attend a service, the expectation is that you let the Service Producer know and find a replacement for yourself.

Your Role

Each role on the Production Team is considered an art form, requiring a unique set of skills and understanding. We will provide you with all the necessary training and guidelines for your role, and we expect you to execute your duties to the best of your ability. This includes remaining attentive and holding yourself accountable throughout the service. This looks like taking pride in what you do, making sure to continually pursue knowledge of your craft. We are a team that is always learning and growing together. Remember, this isn't about perfection – it's about giving our best to God because He deserves nothing less.
